Engagement Photography Session At Yonah Mountain Vineyard – Lauren + Brandon

Lauren + Brandon met at UGA and have been together for six years. They have a quiet presence together, yet you can tell they are a force.
A team that seems destined to make a difference in this world.
They’re united.
They’re quick to laugh and can just as easily slip into serious + honest conversations about what is most important to them.
It is obvious they value people and each other.
And their dogs.

While they don’t take themselves too seriously (they did include crazy Christmas sweaters at the end of their session), I get the impression these two are not impulsive and weigh the options before them carefully. Brandon secretly invited friends to Athens at the beginning of November for celebrating their engagement after he asked Lauren to be his wife. Points for pre-planning!

These two enjoy time together and out with friends. Football and wins for the Dawgs, of course. Wine. Travel. Dancing. They were thrilled with Yonah Mountain Vineyards gave special permission to make their engagement photographs on their property! Big thanks to this wonderful winery for allowing us to use their gorgeous vineyards as a backdrop for engagement photographs.

In the middle of Lauren + Brandon’s engagement session, a shuttle bus drove by and a woman yelled out the window, “I LOVE LOOOOOVE!!!” and then Lauren + Brandon smiled bigger than ever and held up their hands in a wave and a ring finger flaunt. It was perfect timing and a wonderful moment that just added to this afternoon together.

Lauren loves how Brandon can work a room. He is engaging and easily draws out goodwill in others. Brandon adores Lauren and loves how she changes others for the better, including himself as the most fortunate recipient.

Since my time with them, they have stayed in my thoughts. The way they treat each other. There is this bubble that seems to surround them. It’s filled with respect, but moreso a mutual understanding. They know who they are. Individually. And as a couple.
They know each other.
To be known, and still accepted, seems like one of the greatest gifts we can experience.
Brandon loves Lauren’s faith, which makes this quote feel even more appropriate.

“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.” – Timothy Keller
